Personnel Practices & Policies

Policy

Personnel practices will be supported by written personnel policies that are kept current. At a minimum, these personnel policies will include:


  • Procedures for selecting qualified personnel; 

  • A system for documenting the current licensure and/or certification status for those personnel whose positions or functions require such licensure or certification; 

  • Frequency of supervision; 

  • Continuing education; 

  • Hiring/firing practices; 

  • A system for assessing the competency of all personnel providing healthcare services


Policies will be maintained in writing, be available to all personnel and be updated and/or revised as appropriate. All staff will be made aware of current personnel policies, practices and procedures through initial orientation, annual updates and interim notifications when necessary.

Standard

15-C-7 Personnel practices are supported by appropriate written personnel policies that are kept current. Personnel records include the qualifications of all professional and assistant level personnel, as well as evidence of State licensure if applicable. 485.709(c) Standard
