Environment
Policy
LifeCare was designed as an outpatient rehabilitation facility with all appropriate areas accessible to persons with orthopedic impairments. By design:
The building has multiple windows to allow for natural light which is supplemented by overhead and task lighting;
Noise levels are controlled and managed with private and semi-private areas for treatment;
Central air conditioning system is utilized for comfortable temperature;
Bathrooms are accessible and constructed for use by non-ambulatory and semi-ambulatory individuals.
Facility A/C System
In 2016, our building's air conditioning system was upgraded to include a UV Light System. UV lights in a HVAC system provide ultraviolet germicidal irradiation and have been shown to be effective in sterilizing HCVAC systems. A 2012 study at Duke University Medical Center showed that UV lights killed 97% of bacteria that were resistant to antibiotics and these systems are commonly used in hospitals and grocery stores. The inclusion of this system helps with infection control while ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our staff, patients and visitors.
