Smoke Free Environment Policy

Purpose:

To promote a safe, healthy, and therapeutic environment for all patients, visitors, and staff by eliminating exposure to tobacco smoke and nicotine vapor within the facility and on facility grounds.

Policy Statement:

LifeCare Therapy is a strictly smoke‑free environment. Smoking or the use of any tobacco, nicotine, or smoke‑producing products is prohibited at all times inside the building and anywhere on facility property, including parking areas, walkways, and courtyard.

 
This policy applies to all forms of:

• Cigarettes

• Cigars

• Pipes

• Electronic cigarettes (e‑cigarettes, vapes)

• Herbal or non‑tobacco smoking products

• Any device that emits smoke, vapor, or aerosol

Scope:

This policy applies to:

• Patients

• Visitors

• Staff members

• Contractors and vendors

• Any individual on facility property

Compliance:

Individuals who violate this policy will be reminded of the smoke‑free requirement and asked to stop smoking immediately or relocate off facility property. Repeated violations may result in further action consistent with facility procedures.
