Evacuation & Shelter In Place
Policy
LifeCare is committed to protecting the health and safety of our staff, patients and visitors. In many emergency or disaster situations, LifeCare may need to respond with either an evacuation of our building or by lockdown. These events can occur without warning and LifeCare will attempt to protect life and safety through these measures whenever needed. Plans for safe evacuation or shelter in place are developed which include:
Policies and processes for safe evacuation from the center;
Plans to ensure the safe care and treatment needs of evacuees;
Staff responsibilities during periods of evacuation;
Shelter-in-place plan;
Preservation and sharing of medical documentation.
Plans are shared with all personnel, routinely tested, and reviewed at least every two years.
